Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a condition that people suffer with where they have consistant worry, tension and for foreboding. They will worry or be overly concerned about health, money, work and potential danger or disaster. People with GAD will will have these symtoms for prolonged periods and sometimes find it hard to function throughout the day as their mind is full of anxiety.

People with GAD can have prolonged intense symptoms and sometimes produce mild anxiety. They may have problems sleeping or getting to sleep as their mind is constantly active with excessive worrying and anxiety. It can become a vicious circle because the more they dwell on a topic of worry, the more it is reinforced in the persons mind.

GAD is a fairly common anxiety disorder and can be treated through councelling or self help techniques.

Information and Self Help

There are many ways to treat GAD but like any anxiety related disorder, there are underlying reasons why the person has developed this and dealing with that is the key to relieving the symptoms.
